Stefanos Tyrovolas, PhD

Dr. Tyrovolas has a BSc in Dietetics and Nutrition, a MSc in ¨Applied Dietetics¨ and a PhD in Nutrition from the Harokopio University of Athens (Greece). In 2014 his PhD title was homologated from the University of Barcelona. Dr Tyrovolas did his postdoctoral research at CIBERSAM, the Foundation Sant Joan de Deu and the ISCIII between 2013-2016. Then he continued his work for 4 more years, in the same Institutions as Senior Researcher in ageing epidemiology, nutrition and chronic disease prevention in the older adults at the same research Institution (2016-2020). Between 2020-2023, Dr Tyrovolas was appointed as Research Assistant Professor (2020-2022) and as Assistant Professor (2022-2023) at the School of Nursing of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Between 2021 to 2023 he served also as Deputy Director of the WHOCC center at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. In 2024 he joined the George Mason University as Associate Professor.
